The drinks reception was at 7.00pm, followed by dinner at 7.30pm and then entertainment. We were told we'd have to vacate the premises by 1.30 am, though it was probably about 2am when the last stragglers were kicked out.
The dress code for the evening was smart evening wear, and we're delighted to say that everyone who attended looked spectacularly well turned out.
By popular demand, we have organised a wedding list at Arnott's with a selection of gifts. This is by no means obligatory however, and deviation is encouraged!
Since we will be moving into our new house in Sandymount soon, gift vouchers from Arnotts, the Johnstown Garden Center, or Flanagan's Furniture of Mount Merrion (old website here) would also be very useful.
The Great Escape, one of Ireland's best wedding bands. Fair play lads -- you put on a great show!
In Gougane Barra, the evening's entertainment was provided by Barra & Maurice from Inchigeela, another pair of gifted musicians, who gave us a great night to remember.
Most of the photos on the website were taken by our official photographer, Kevin Byrne from Portlaoise. Check out his website for some more examples of his great work. (He doesn't do weddings any more, but Kathryn persuaded him to make an exception.)
The other photos were taken by Gavin Byrne and Susan Carroll. Check out Gavin's website for more photos. And if you're visiting Westport and need some accomodation, why not stay with Susan at Abbeywood House.
We were surprised and delighted to discover that Gavin had composed a special wedding song in our honour. You can hear it on his website. Thank you, Gavin!
